Our daily Green River rafting trips through Split Mountain Canyon cover approximately nine river miles. There are four Class II - III rapids in this stretch of the Green River: Moonshine, S.O.B., Schoolboy and Inglesby. This 1-day rafting trip is the perfect mix of spectacular scenery with just enough whitewater splashing to add a little spice.   A perfect rafting adventure in Utah for just about everyone.

Expeditions meet daily at 9:30 a.m. mid-May through mid-September at our headquarters in Vernal, Utah. We depart at 10:00 a.m. and take a 1-hour bus ride to the launch point. We’ll stop along the way to view Native American Petroglyphs.  Once at the launch site your guides will give you a short orientation. Then, we’re off!

We’ll run three rapids before stopping at “Hatch Beach” for our famous “build-your-own-masterpiece” deli-style lunch. After lunch, we’ll finish the remaining 3-4 miles of Split Mountain Canyon.  The expedition ends at the Split Mountain Boat Ramp where we’ll board the bus and contemplate our memories of a great day during the 30-minute bus ride back to Vernal. Expeditions usually arrive back in Vernal around 4:00 to 5:00 p.m., although during high-water periods, expeditions may be back in Vernal as early as 3:00 p.m.

OARS provides all food and river gear.  We recommend you bring along a hat, sunscreen, and sunglasses with securing strap + a water bottle with a carabiner to attach it to the boat. Shorts and swimsuits are the usual attire, but if you tend to sunburn easily, you may wish to wear a long-sleeved shirt and pants.  Lightweight clothing is best as it dries faster. You’ll need river/tennis shoes or river sandals with an ankle strap and dry clothes and shoes to change into after your trip. You may bring cameras, however, we recommend that you leave expensive cameras behind and take a waterproof point and shoot or disposable camera.
